While traveling out of the country, we trusted the safety of our dog, Brody to a kennel. What a mistake that was! 48 hours after leaving him, I received a call from the kennel that they were rushing him to an emergency animal hospital due to non-stop vomiting and diarrhea. Every day I worried that my Brody would not survive my family's vacation, it truly ruined the entire week. Upon returning home and picking him up, he was eating and drinking very little, still sick and required oral antibiotics that had not even been started yet. The kennel charged me full price for his stay $700 and the emergency animal hospital charged me $1800 for his IV fluids and antibiotics but my poor boy continued to be under the weather for weeks. Fortunately, he recovered fully but I have not and have become determined to create a more positive experience for pets while their owners are on vacation.
